Kanani is a native San Diegan who grew up in the Solana Beach area and attended La Jolla Country Day from middle school through high school. She attended the University of Southern California as a Dean’s Scholar and graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing & Poetry. Kanani joined the TriStaff Group in January 1999 as a Recruiter, and has since been promoted to Director of the Technology Division, as well as VP of Business Development for all of TriStaff Group’s business divisions.

Over the past 12 years, Kanani has successfully placed over 600 candidates with client companies, and produced over $4MM in billings to date. She won Recruiter of the Year for the years 2000-2001, 2007-2008, and 2008-2009, and was also a finalist for the San Diego Business Journals “Women Who Mean Business” Awards in 2009.

As the Director of the Technology Division, Kanani works with companies in San Diego and across the United States. Positions include individual contributors to C-level professionals in Software Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Quality Assurance.

Key areas within the Technology Sector include: SaaS, security, clean tech, online advertising & digital media, web development, wireless, embedded software, data warehousing/cloud storage, and medical device. Client companies include successful Fortune 500 corporations and emerging, fast-growth startup companies.

Her role as VP of Business Development, oversees TriStaff’s other divisions, which include Finance, Hardware, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Clerical/Administrative, Media, Call Centers, and Healthcare. Kanani works with Amy Moser, TriStaff Group’s Vice-President. As a team they are always on top of technology trends and changes in the job market, and can thus confidently counsel candidates on their career decisions and companies on the best solutions for their hiring needs.
